Enter umlauts (Ä, Ü, Ö) on the English keyboard

On English keyboards, the umlauts Ä, Ö and Ü are not found on individual keys as usual. Instead, you have to press a certain key combination.
Ä, Ö, Ü: Enter umlauts on the English keyboard
Regardless of whether you have chosen an American, British or Canadian keyboard layout - the German umlauts can only be entered using a key combination. Also note that there are different combinations of upper and lower case. The numbers must be entered using the numeric keypad.
- ä: Press [Alt] and enter the numbers [1], [3], [2] one after the other.
- Ä: Use the [Alt] key and enter the numbers [1], [4], [2] one after the other.
- ö: Press [Alt] and enter the numbers [1], [4], [8] one after the other.
- Ö: Press [Alt] and enter the numbers [1], [5], [3] one after the other.
- ü: Press [Alt] and enter the numbers [1], [2], [9] one after the other.
- Ü: Use the [Alt] key and enter the numbers [1], [5], [4] one after the other.
- By the way: On the laptop, you usually have to press the Fn key in addition to the above combinations.
