Find an unknown song: The best tips
We have the best tips for you if you are looking for an unknown song. Because it's pretty annoying when you find a song good, but just don't know the name of the artist and title. With the following tips you should be able to track almost every song.
Search for songs while listening
The easiest way, of course, is to use software to find the song. However, this presupposes that you let the song search directly while you listen to it. You have very different options for this.
- Software on the PC: You can search for the tracks on the computer and use Tunatic, for example. The free software is ideal for finding songs that are currently being played on the radio, for example.
- App for on the go: You can also use an app for your cell phone and record music in a café or a disco, for example. Then the app shows you the artist and also the music title. Shazam, for example, offers such a function.
Find songs afterwards
Sometimes, however, it is also the case that you cannot record the songs directly because, for example, you cannot switch on the app while driving or because in many cases it would simply take too long. Then you should proceed as follows.
- Be sure to remember clues. Is anything in the song constantly sung? Can you hear anything striking? Does a woman, a man or a band sing? It is best to write down such things directly or as soon as possible.
- If you can hum the melody or even sing parts of it, you can ask friends and acquaintances for advice. Otherwise, software will also help you here. For example, it is worth installing the SoundHound app. In the best case, this will show you the name of the artist and the title of the song.
- If you don't have such a possibility, you should consult search engines like Google and enter a few lines of the song there. For example, it makes sense to enter repetitive text passages. With a little luck, this is the chorus and you may find the song faster.
- If there is something suitable or several songs apply, you can also go to music platforms like YouTube and do the counter test there. Listen to different songs and ask yourself if it is the song you want.
- If you heard the song on the radio, you can do it very differently and remember the time when you heard the song on the radio. Then go to the homepage of the radio station and check whether the track list of the songs that the radio station has played recently is displayed. At the specified time this song should then also be shown there with artist and title name.
