Unified daemon: what is it and can i turn it off?
Most Samsung smartphones have the entry "Unified Daemon" in the list of data usage. Find out in this practical tip what is behind it and whether you can switch off "Unified Daemon".
This is behind "Unified Daemon"
"Unified Daemon" is a central application that is mostly on Samsung or Android smartphones and is pre-installed.
- The Android application is used by many apps, for example the weather app, the alarm, the clock or the S Planner.
- The entire data usage of these apps is summarized with Unified Daemon.
- You cannot turn off this application. However, you have the option of restricting data usage.
- To do this, open the settings as well as the item "Data usage" and "Unified Daemon" or, in newer versions, "Settings" -> "Data usage" -> "Weather Daemon" for the weather widget.
- With a longer update interval, you ensure less data consumption.
