Unitymedia: Take your connection with you when you move - that's how it's done
In this practical tip, we will show you how you can take your Unitymedia connection with you when you move.
Unitymedia connection: available at new location?
If you move, you can take your Unitymedia connection with you, provided the cable provider is available in your new place of residence. You can perform an availability check on the Unitymedia website.
- Call the availability check of Unitymedia.
- Enter your new postcode, street and house number. Unitymedia determines its place of residence based on the postcode itself.
- Click "Check Availability". You will then see in detail whether and if so what availability.
Take the Unitymedia connection with you when you move
If you found out that Unitymedia is available in your new place of residence, you can take your connection with you.
- When the test is finished, you can click on "Moving Service" in the window. Alternatively, call the free hotline 0800 000 9993, which you can use to reach Unitymedia's customer service.
- To do this, you must have your customer data ready. Log in to the customer center with your email address and password.
- Then enter your new address in full in the fields provided. Then click "Check Availability" again.
- Unitymedia confirms once again that a connection is possible and also indicates whether all connections are possible.
- If this is the case, fill out the form in the lower area. You must provide your phone number and the day of the move. Optionally, you can also add your email address and a message.
- Click on "Submit". If the transfer is successful, you will be informed that an employee will contact you by phone in the next few days to discuss how to proceed.
If you find that you cannot take your Unitymedia connection with you when you move, you should cancel your contract.
