Use Unitymedia WifiSpot abroad: how it works
You can also use Unitymedia WifiSpots abroad. How to protect your data volume when traveling by logging into the Unitymedia WLAN. As a company customer, this is even free of charge for you and up to 150 MBit / s fast.
Unitymedia hotspots abroad: How to register
In order to use the Unitymedia hotspots abroad, two requirements are necessary:
- You must be a Unitymedia customer.
- You must also activate the Unitymedia WifiSpot on your own router at home. In this way you make your WLAN available to others - of course, secured and anonymous. We'll show you how in the next paragraph.
Unitymedia: Use a hotspot abroad - preparation
To use the Unitymedia hotspot abroad, you need personal access data. You will only receive this if you provide your own router as a WifiSpot:
- First, open the Unitymedia website and log in to the customer center.
- Then select "My Products" and then "Internet".
- At the bottom you will find the section "WifiSpot settings". There you switch on the hotspot under "WifiSpot Status".
- Now you will also see your user name (consisting of the combination "Unitymedia / your email address"). You only have to choose a password.
- With the combination of user name and password, you can log in to the Unitymedia hotspots abroad.
Unitymedia abroad: How to register in the hotspot
The Unitymedia networks are not so easy to recognize abroad. In contrast to the Unitymedia network with us in Germany, they usually do not contain the term "Unitymedia" in the name. Here you will find the official list of Unitymedia WiFi networks. There you can log in with your user name and password:
- Germany: Unitymedia Public Hotspot and Unitymedia WifiSpot
- Netherlands: Ziggo
- Belgium: TelenetWiFree
- Switzerland: UPC Wi-Free
- Hungary: UPC Wi-Free
- Czech Republic: UPC Wi-Free
- Romania: UPC Wi-Free
- Poland: UPC Wi-Free
- Slovakia: UPC Wi-Free
- Ireland: UPC Wi-Free
- Austria: UPC Wi-Free
