GoPro: That is the difference between the "Fusion" and the "HERO" models
The two main series of cameras differ in their names. The following are the main differences between the two series.
- GoPro HERO: The HERO series represents the "normal" action cams, which in turn are divided into 3 classes. Read more about the differences below.
- GoPro Fusion : The "Fusion" model is a special feature compared to "normal" cameras: it has a camera on both sides that automatically merges the image material from both sides into a 360 ° image using the "OverCapture" function.
GoPro Hero7: These are the differences between black, silver and white
As in every generation of GoPro action cams, there are three cameras to choose from in the current version. But " Black ", " Silver " and " White " differ not only in the color of the case. You can expect the following differences:
- GoPro HERO7 White: This camera is the entry-level model of GoPro's action cams. Although it does not offer the same features as the flagship of GoPro, it is very different in price from it. The HERO7 White offers 10MP photos, 1080p60 videos, standard video stabilization and 2x slow motion.
- GoPro HERO7 Silver: The mid-range model from GoPro offers some functions more than the entry-level model, but also costs around € 100 more. The HERO7 Silver offers 10MP photos, 4K30 videos, standard video stabilization, 2x slow motion and GPS function.
- GoPro HERO7 Black: The GoPro flagship costs the most, but it also offers significantly more functions than the other models. The HERO7 Black offers 12MP photos, 4K60 videos, "HyperSmooth" video stabilization, 8x slow motion and GPS function.
- You can also use the black version to stream the video directly, create TimeWarp videos and activate it by voice. There is also a small screen on the lens side of the camera that shows current settings.
- The camera also benefits from "SuperFoto" - which automatically optimizes your photos - a powerful GP1 chip as well as compatibility with the "Karma" drone and the "Super Suit" diving housing.
- Another special feature of the GoPro HERO7 Black is the replaceable battery. If you are on the road longer, you can take several batteries with you and simply replace them on the go.
GoPro HERO7: "Black", "Silver" and "White" have these things in common
In addition to the differences mentioned above, there are of course many similarities. Many features of the "Black" are also available in the "Silver" and "White". These include the following:

- The fusion shoots 18 megapixel photos and 5.2K30 videos.
- The fact that a 360-degree image is created makes the video stabilization spherical: you will not see any loss of image due to digital stabilization here.
- With 360 degree recordings you are not only bound to 360 degree videos: You can edit your videos afterwards with "OverCapture" and turn them into a normal video in which the best perspective is shown.
- With 4 built-in microphones not only a stereo sound is possible, but also a 360 degree sound. When you watch the video, the sound is also appropriate for the perspective you choose.
- Like the Hero7 Black, the Fusion also offers the option of replacing the battery. In addition, 2 micro SD cards fit into the camera, which offer you even more storage capacity.
