Uplay download too slow - you can do that
If game downloads at Uplay are too slow, there can be various reasons, but unfortunately not all of them can be fixed. Read here what you can do yourself.
Help with slow Uplay downloads
- The first thing you should do is run a broadband speed test to make sure your internet connection is actually delivering the expected speed. This is possible, for example, with our free DSL speed test. If your connection is too slow, you can follow these tips.
- If you are currently transmitting other data over the Internet, this can significantly slow down the download of games in Uplay. In this case you have to pause all other uploads and downloads on your PC and other computers in the network.
- The Uplay client has an option to limit the bandwidth used when downloading games and updates. How to set this limit: In the Uplay software, click on the hamburger icon in the top left and then select "Settings". Move the "Bandwidth Limit" slider all the way to the right to turn it off completely.
- Stop the download in Uplay and restart after a moment. With luck, the game will download faster now.
- Unfortunately it happens again and again that the download servers of Ubisoft are overloaded and games can therefore only be downloaded slowly. Shortly after the release of popular games, downloads will only work at a limited speed. You then have no choice but to wait patiently or download at a later time.
