Allow uploads for third parties in Dropbox - how it works
If your friends do not have a Dropbox, you can allow a third party to upload them using a small web tool. We'll show you how it's done.
Dropbox: Allow uploads for third parties
In order for friends without Dropbox access to be able to store files in one of your folders, you need a web app.
- Open the DBinbox.com website and enter your desired user name above. This will appear in your upload link at the end.
- If you then click on the "Connect with Dropbox" button, it will be checked whether your name is available.
- Click the "Allow" button to confirm DBinbox's access to your Dropbox. That is the prerequisite so that you can use the Deinst.
- In the next step, you can choose a password that the uploader must enter beforehand. Then click on "Save".
- Via the link "www.dbinbox / XXX" everyone can upload any files after entering the password. You must replace the letters "XXX" with the user name you chose in step 1.
- The uploaders can also type in a message directly in the browser and upload it as a text document.
- You will then find the "dbinbox" folder in the "Apps" folder in your Dropbox. All uploaded files are collected here.
If your friends also have a Dropbox, it is much easier to share a Dropbox folder with friends.
