Detect UPS spam mail - Here's how
If you have received a dubious mail from UPS, this may be spam. We'll show you how to find out.
Detect UPS spam mails
- Millions of spam emails are sent out on behalf of large companies such as Amazon, PayPal, DHL, UPS and banks. The first thing to ask yourself is whether you have ordered anything from UPS at all.
- In the spam mail you are often asked to open a link, for example to determine the current status of the shipment. The threat of legal consequences is also not uncommon.
- The attachments to spam mails are just as dangerous. Never open a file in ZIP, RAR or EXE format. This usually hides viruses that are already on your PC after a click.
Mail check: How to recognize spam
- You can find more information from the sender of the mail. Google both the email address of the sender and the name if the email was signed. In many cases you are not the first to receive such an email. However, real names and addresses are often used.
- Check the mail for spelling errors. A large and reputable company like UPS will not send a spelling mistake. Here, some senders are not quite as precise and leave mistakes.
- On the IsNotSpam.com website, you can send the spam mail to the email address shown. The website then checks the mail for seriousness.
