USB OTG stands for USB On-The-Go
USB OTG is a USB standard that stands for "USB On-The-Go". Freely translated, this means "USB on the go".
- The idea behind this is to connect certain devices such as printers, smartphones, hard drives, keyboards or digital cameras directly to one another. For example, images from the camera do not have to be downloaded to the computer before you can access the smartphone.
- With USB OTG you can also connect USB sticks directly to a smartphone.
- There are two things to consider here: Both devices must support the USB OTG standard. This is now the case with more and more devices. You also need a USB OTG adapter cable that connects the two devices.
- You can see whether your devices are suitable for USB OTG by looking at the USB sticker on the product or on the product packaging. Then there is an additional green arrow with the inscription "OTG" under the usual USB logo.
