Always insert the USB stick correctly: With this trick it works
Whether in the office or at home, the USB stick rarely lands on the PC on the first try. This practical tip shows you how to insert USB sticks the right way round.
PC trick: Always insert the USB stick correctly
Although the chance is 50 percent, the USB stick feels the wrong way around in the USB port on every first attempt. A quick look at the USB stick can solve the permanent problem.
- The USB symbol on the USB stick always points upwards. If there is no corresponding symbol on the stick, the labeled side usually points upwards.
- If there is no sign of this, look at the holes in the metal plate of the USB stick. If there are only two holes on one side, the holes must point upwards (see picture).
- If the USB stick has holes on both sides, the side on which you can look through the holes points upwards. On the wrong side there is black or colored plastic right behind the holes.
- There is good news for chronic false plugs: the first computers and USB sticks with the USB standard 3.1 (Type C) are now available. It doesn't matter how you insert the stick.
