If you have accidentally deleted or formatted data stored on your USB stick, you can restore it. A simple app will help you with this. You can find out exactly how this is done in this practical tip.
Restore USB stick with recovery tool
After deleting data from your USB stick, it is still available. The storage space occupied by the data is only marked as reusable.
- It is important that you do not save any new data on the USB stick that you want to restore. That would overwrite the old data.
- To restore the USB stick, download the free tool Easeus Data Recovery Wizard Free Edition onto your computer.
- Connect the USB stick you want to restore to your computer and start the tool.
- First select the USB stick from the drive overview and click on "Scan". The recovery tool lists all deleted and recoverable files.
- Select the files and folders you want to restore and then click the "Restore" button.
- Tip: Do not save the recovered data on the USB stick, but preferably on your computer. In this way you can prevent data that is still on the USB stick from being overwritten.
