Vegan pancakes: brilliant recipe without eggs and milk
Vegan pancakes without eggs are no longer a problem. With our ingenious recipe you can make really delicious pancakes even without egg and milk. This is proof once again: Even with a vegan diet, you don't have to do without great desserts.
Vegan pancakes without milk and egg: you need these ingredients
To make vegan pancakes, you need to replace the animal ingredients from traditional pancake recipes:
- You can replace the eggs in a batter with a little oat milk and soy flour. If you don't like oat milk, you can also use soy milk.
- If you want more fruity pancakes, replace half of the oat milk with some apple juice. However, you should make sure that the apple juice has not been cleared with gelatin.
- Since normal sugar is filtered from bovine bones with a charcoal filter, you can replace the white sugar with maple syrup or agave syrup. But always check the labels, because sometimes animal components also creep in here. Alternatively, simply use raw cane sugar.
Making vegan pancakes: the whole guide
The base dough for this recipe is made from the following ingredients: 500g of flour, 70g of sugar (or the above alternative), 1 packet of baking powder, 400 ml of oat milk (or soy milk), 1 tbsp of coconut fat and a little coconut fat for roasting.
- Before you mix all the ingredients together, you should melt the 1 tablespoon of coconut fat. This usually happens when it gets warmer than room temperature. So you could put it in a small bowl and warm it up in your hand.
- Now stir all the ingredients well together and then pour the finished dough into a greased pan.
- Tip: You can also adjust the recipe and replace half of the oat milk with apple juice. This makes the pancake batter fruity and a little sweeter. You can also put apple pieces in the dough.
Vegan pancakes with 3 ingredients
In our article on flour substitutes, we already told you how useful legume flour can be. You can also fall back on vegan pancakes:
- For these pancakes you only need 500g of flour (e.g. from chickpeas) 1 liter of carbonated water and some maple syrup or agave syrup.
- Mix the flour with the water and then add the syrup.
- To make the pancake batter fluffy, you should let it rest a little. This allows the carbonation of the water to work and thus makes the pancake light. We recommend a rest period of at least 10 minutes.
- Then you can prepare the pancakes in a pan with some coconut fat.
