Adobe Photoshop: Create Vector Art
With the appropriate tools, you can draw paths in Adobe Photoshop that can later be converted into vectors. Several points, the so-called anchor points, create a path.
- Create a new document by clicking on "File" -> "New" in the menu bar. Adjust the dimensions of the level accordingly.
- With the "pen tool" you gradually place your anchor points on the plane until a rough, closed shape is created. With the left mouse button pressed you create round shapes. A tangent then appears at your starting point. You can also draw freely with a related tool.
- Next comes the finishing touches. With the "Path selection / direct selection tool" you can later move the points of your path and use the "Add / delete anchor point tool" to add further anchor points or delete the existing ones. You can also use the "Convert Point Tool" to make further changes to the bend.
- Draw pixel graphics: If you want to trace the contours of a pixel graphic, you have to create a new layer in which to insert the image. Adjust the opacity so that your anchor points are clearly visible.
- Convert Photoshop document to vector graphic: Finally, you need to convert your document to vector graphic, since Photoshop is based on pixels. To do this, go to "File" -> "Export" -> "Paths -> Illustrator".
