Windows store connection failed - what to do?
If the error message "Connection to the Windows Store failed" appears in Windows 8, you can easily solve the problem. We show you what helps.
Connection to Windows store failed - problem solving
There are several possible causes of the problem, so do the following steps in sequence.
- Restart: Do not just shutdown your computer, but restart it. Only then will the system be completely reloaded.
- Anti-Virus: Deactivate your anti-virus program and try again.
- Update: Open Windows Update and install all available updates. Then restart the system.
- Troubleshooter: Download and run the Microsoft app repair tool. Restart your computer after the repair.
- System File Checker: Open the command prompt. Enter the command "sfc / scannow" and confirm with "Enter". Windows then looks for errors in the system and repairs them.
- Switch off the firewall: If the firewall blocks the connection of the Windows Store to the Internet, it cannot start. Switch it off briefly and try to open it. You can find instructions in this practical tip.
- Clear cache: Remove the cache of the Windows store by simultaneously pressing the [Windows] and [R] keys. Enter the command "WSReset.exe" under "Execute" and confirm with "OK".
- Create folder: Navigate to the path "C: \ Windows" in Windows Explorer and create a new folder there with the name "AUInstallAgent". Then restart your system.
Even without a Windows store, you can install apps, as we will show you in another article.
