Clear history: Instructions for all browsers

Deleting the history in the browser can be useful if you share the computer with several people and you don't want everyone to know which pages you have visited on the Internet. Here we show you how to clear history in Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari.
Clear the history in Internet Explorer
- Open the browser and click on the wheel in the top right.
- Select the "Internet Options" in the context menu.
- In the "General" tab you will find the sub-item "Browsing history". Click the "Delete ..." button there.
- A window opens with the name "Clear browsing history". Check the box next to the data you want to delete. Click on "Delete". The history has now been removed.
Remove history in Firefox
- Open Firefox and go to "Firefox" in the top right corner. Then click on "Settings". In the new Firefox 29 you will find the "Settings" menu item by clicking on the three horizontal bars at the top right.
- Click on "Privacy" in the tab. Under "Chronicle" you will find "Recently created chronicle" in blue letters. Click on it.
- Select the time up to which the chronicle should be deleted and then click on "Delete now".
Clear browsing history in Chrome
- Select the three horizontal lines at the top right. Then select "Settings" in the menu.
- On the left side you will find the item "History". Click on it and then on "Clear browser data ...".
Remove the history in Safari
- Click on the wheel in the top right corner and select the "Settings".
- Click on "Privacy" in the tab and there on the sub-item "Remove all website data". Then click on "Remove Now".
Internet Explorer 10, Firefox 21, Chrome Version 27 and Safari 5.1.7 were used. It is even easier to delete the browser history with the CCleaner, which you can download here.
