Packing Asian food: how to use the boxes correctly
Asian takeaway food is usually served in special packaging. However, the boxes are not only extremely practical for transport. This practical tip shows you how to use it correctly at home.
Asian food - the secret of packaging
If you suspect that the typical packaging box for Asian food is only for transport, you are mistaken.
- There is a brilliant idea behind the small folding boxes. You can then transport your fried noodles or other Asian dishes comfortably back home.
- There you don't have to poke around with the chopsticks in the box. Neither do you have to transfer the food onto a plate.
- The Asia boxes are made from one piece and folded quite cleverly. If you unfold the box with the food inside, it quickly becomes a large plate.
- The edges are slightly curved so that the food does not fall out and even the sauce stays where it should be.
- Incidentally, this invention does not come from Asia, but from the USA - and is also very old. The American inventor Frederic Weeks Wilcox came up with the idea very early on, for which he was inspired by the Japanese origami. He registered the patent for the "Asiabox" in 1894.
- For a long time, the practical food boxes were unlabeled. The content was clearly more important than the packaging. Words were first printed in the 1970s. These had nothing to do with Asia, but consisted of the English phrases "Enjoy" and "Thank you".
