Play video backwards - how it works
If you want to play and save a video in reverse, you can use expensive programs. We show how it works for free.
Avidemux: Play video backwards and save
Note: Unfortunately, the required function has disappeared in the current version of Avidemux. However, you can install an older version, it works just as well.
- First download the slightly older version Avidemux.
- Once you have installed and started the program, import your video file. To do this, click on "File" in the menu bar at the top left and then on "Open".
- Select "MPEG-4 AVC" under the "Video" category on the left.
- If you click the "Filters" button, a small window opens. You can select the "Reverse" function in the middle here. Close the window with "Close".
- Then select the diskette icon above to save the video. If you select location and name, the video will be saved backwards.
- Note: If the sound in the video causes problems, select a different format as in the "Video" category and also under "Audio".
