Virtualbox: This is how seamless mode works
In Virtualbox you will find a seamless mode with which you can integrate your virtual system perfectly into the host PC. How this works exactly and how you activate the feature, we show in this article.
Seamless mode in Virtualbox - that is behind it
Activate seamless mode in Virtualbox, blurring the line between the virtual and real system. And this is how it works:
- In seamless mode, Virtualbox fits directly into your actual desktop. That means: All windows of the virtual system appear on your computer like normal programs. In this way you can work with the windows of your virtual system and those of your actual system at the same time.
- This is the difference to full screen mode. In this, Virtualbox is simply enlarged, but your actual system disappears into the background. The seamless mode unites the two systems.
- The only requirement for seamless mode is that there is a desktop on the guest system and that you have installed the guest extension. Otherwise Virtualbox cannot merge anything.
Virtualbox: Activate seamless mode
- You activate the seamless mode via the item "Display"> "Switch on seamless mode" in the system bar of Virtualbox.
- If you want to switch back to normal window mode, use the key combination [Ctrl] + [L]. You can access the Virtualbox menu at any time with the shortcut [Ctrl] + [Home].
