VirtualBox: Take a snapshot - how it works
With VirtualBox you create virtual machines. So that you have a backup in case of data loss, you can take a snapshot and save all settings and data.
Take a snapshot with VirtualBox
Take a snapshot with VirtualBox, make a backup with your virtual machine and all settings. You can then restore that later and reset your virtual machine.
- To do this, in the left pane of VirtualBox, select the machine for which you want to create a save point. Note: The virtual machine must be switched on for this.
- Then click on "Save Points" in the top right corner.
- You can take a snapshot by clicking on the camera icon.
- Depending on the size of the machine, this process takes a few seconds. You can restore the backup later using the camera icon with the arrow.
