Activate virtual keyboard in Mac OS X - Here's how
The virtual keyboard in Mac OS X is not just another feature. If you use a wireless Apple keyboard, for example, then it may have happened to you: The battery is suddenly empty. You can then only control your Mac using the virtual keyboard:
For emergencies: Activate the virtual keyboard in Mac OS X.
- Open the "System Settings" via the apple icon in the top left.
- Click here on the entry "Keyboard".
- Check the option "Show keyboard and character overviews in the menu bar".
- Now click on the icon with the small asterisk in the top right of the menu bar.
- Finally, select "Show keyboard overview".
If your mouse has given up the ghost, you can only operate your Mac with the keyboard.
