Virus on PS4 - is there?
If you use your PS4 to surf the Internet, it is unlikely that you will infect it with a virus. This practical tip will tell you whether you can still catch a virus on the PS4.
Virus on PS4 - is there?
Sony's Playstation 4 connects to the Internet, for example to download updates or use the browser. Loading a virus onto the game console is unlikely, but it is possible.
- Technically speaking, there is nothing to prevent your PS4 from becoming infected with a virus. There are viruses for every operating system. These are not compatible with each other, which means that a virus that has been programmed for a Windows PC is not able to infect your PS4.
- The PS4 is a closed system developed by Sony that does not execute any foreign code.
- Firmware updates ensure security on your PS4. If you keep it up to date, your console is protected.
- Should a virus for the PS4 get into circulation, Sony will offer a firmware update, which closes security gaps as soon as possible.
