Use VLC for DVB-T reception
The VLC player is a real all-rounder - you can use it not only for video files and internet streams, but also for DVB-T reception. To do this, you first have to make a few small settings and of course connect a DVB-T receiver to your computer.
Set up DVB-T reception in the VLC player
If you have connected a DVB-T receiver (for example this offer from Amazon) to your PC, you can start with the setup.
- You first need the transmitter frequency for your location, which you can see in this list.
- Open the VLC player and click on "Media" and then on "Open recording device".
- Set "TV digital" as the recording mode. Under "Transmission system" select "DVB-T".
- Set the searched frequency under "Transponder / Multiflex Frequency" and click on "Play".
- You are now shown all stations of the set frequency.
These instructions were created with VLC version 2.1.0. Already knew? You can also start the VLC player in full screen mode.
