VLC player: rotate video - how it works
In the VLC media player you can rotate videos by 90 or 180 ° if, for example, they are turned upside down or are played upright instead of in landscape format. Here's how to do it:
- Click on "Tools"> "Effects and Filters" at the top of the navigation bar.
- Now the "Adjustment and Effects" menu opens. First select "Video Effects" and then "Geometry".
- Place a checkmark next to "Transform" and choose below how many degrees the video should be rotated.
- If you want to rotate the video differently than in the specified 90-degree steps, check the "Rotate" box instead and use the virtual turntable to select the desired angle.
Tip: Rotate the entire video file with the additional program
- If you are looking for a sustainable solution for misaligned videos, you can also use an appropriate editing program.
- The small tool "Free Video Flip and Rotate" offers simple options to rotate videos and save them correctly.
- "Free Video Flip and Rotate" can be downloaded free of charge from the CHIP download area.
