Play VLC videos via Airplay: Instructions
To be able to play and stream VLC videos via Airplay, you only need the current version of the player and Airplay-compatible devices such as an Apple TV. Since VLC has a built-in Airplay function, playing is particularly easy. The following instructions cover all the important steps:
- Open the VLC player, navigate to the Media tab and then select Open file . Now the desired series or film is selected. This also applies to CD, DVD and Blurays.
- After loading the video, click on the streaming field, which resembles a television. This way the video is streamed to the TV.
- Then select the Audio tab and select Audio device under it. A list of audio devices that you can select for playback now appears.
- Select Airplay and the sound will now start to be played via Airplay on the desired device.
