Vodafone: Set up a fixed / static IP address
Vodafone only issues a fixed / static IP to business or business customers. If you are one of them, we will show you how to set up a fixed IP.
Static IP address at Vodafone
You can order a fixed IP from Vodafone with the Business Pro 100 tariff.
- In certain cases, as an existing customer, you can switch from your current tariff to Business Pro 100. However, you should note that Business Pro 100 does not include telephony.
- You can also book Business Pro 100 in addition to your existing contract. In this case you need a second multimedia socket.
- In both cases, contact customer service. You can reach them Monday to Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 10:00 p.m. on 0800 - 66 48 390. This call is free of charge from German mobile and fixed networks.
- As a new customer, you can book the Business Pro tariff directly online.
Vodafone: DynDNS instead of fixed IP
DynDNS (Dynamic Domain Name System Entry) is a system that updates domain name entries in real time. It replaces a fixed IP address.
- Vodafone does not offer its own DynDNS service, but you can use the service via the HomeBox and the AVM service myfritz.net.
- With the DynDNS address you get a fixed subdomain that is automatically connected to the IP address of the HomeBox.
Instructions on how to set up DynDNS in the FritzBox can be found in the next practical tip.
