Vodafone GigaCube: 3 alternative offers compared
Vodafone's GigaCube is probably the most popular home spot on the market. However, Vodafone only offers a single tariff for this and this only uses the Vodafone network. But there are also alternatives. We present three of them in this article.
Congstar Homespot: An alternative to GigaCube
The home spot of the provider Congstar impresses compared to the GigaCube above all with a better network and a wider selection of tariffs.
- There are three tariffs available, which differ in price and data volume. You have 30 GB of data available for 20 euros per month. For 30 euros you get 100 GB and for 45 euros there is even 200 GB of data volume. You pay a one-off fee of EUR 10 for this.
- The homespot uses the D1 network. You can surf at up to 40 Mbit per second and with LTE.
- One disadvantage is that, unlike the GigaCube, the Congstar Homespot can only be operated at a specified address.
The second alternative to the GigaCube: The O2 HomeSpot
The O2 Homespot offers several tariffs, but with little data volume and poorer network.
- You can book three options for the O2 Homespot. Either 1 GB for 14.99 euros, 10 GB for 24.99 euros or 20 GB for 34.99 euros per month. In addition, a one-time fee of 39.99 euros will be charged for the facility.
- O2's home spot uses the E network at a speed of 225 Mbit per second and LTE, which is, however, much worse developed than the D network.
- Advantage: You can plug and use the O2 Homespot throughout Europe.
Speedbox: GigaCube competitor from Telekom
Telekom also offers a home spot called Speedbox. As with Vodafone, you only have one tariff to choose from.
- For 39.95 euros per month and a one-time fee of 40.95 euros, you get 100 GB of data volume at the Telekom Speedbox.
- The Speedbox uses the well-developed D1 network with LTE at a speed of 300 Mbit per second
- The Telekom Speedbox can be used throughout Germany and offers even greater flexibility thanks to the built-in battery with 3000 mAh.
