With a folder spine template you can easily label your folders. You can customize the templates in Word and then print them out. This tip shows you how to find the templates for folder spines in Word.
Find templates for spine folders in Word
Open Microsoft Office Word and click "New" to go to the template catalog.
Then click on "New" in the left menu column and enter "Folder" in the search bar.
Now select the template for folder spines. A small window then opens with the "Create" button. Click there to edit the spine of the folder in Word.
- Now Word downloads the template and opens it. You can then label the templates and select a color for the layout. If you are not satisfied with the graphic design, you can also delete the graphic elements. The text still fits on the spine of the folder - you just have to print it out.
Print folders according to standard
You can also use label templates from different manufacturers and call them up in Word. For example for self-adhesive labels and various folders:
- Click on "Shipments" at the top of the ribbon.
- Then select "Labels".
- Now a new window opens. Click on "Options" there.
- At "Label Manufacturer" you can now select the manufacturer from which your folders are.
- Then look for the label number below and then edit the labels. In our example we took L4761, which fits the Leitz folder spine 1685.
These instructions are based on Word 365. You can also easily design and label the back of a folder using the "Rüschi" software. In this practical tip, we will show you how to create with Word Flyer and here we will introduce you to other layout programs.
