Pre-contracts in FIFA 18: how they work
Even in FIFA 18 career mode, you can bring players to your club free of charge with a preliminary contract. In this article you can read which requirements have to be fulfilled and how you can set up such contracts.
FIFA 18: conclude preliminary contracts - how it works
- Signing up players in FIFA 18 by pre-contract is cost-effective because there are no millions of dollars in transfers. Therefore, this method is ideal for poorer clubs. But even if you own a slightly better-off club, you can make real bargains with these preliminary contracts.
- In order to submit a preliminary contract to a player, he must meet two conditions. First, his existing contract cannot last longer than 6 months. Since all contracts in FIFA are concluded all year round (from summer to summer), a preliminary contract is only possible in the winter transfer window from January 1st to 31st. The second condition is the age of the players. Due to various regulations, players are only allowed to sign a preliminary contract from the age of 23. The young talents can still only be released by transfer fees.
- If you want to find out which players the contract expires in under 6 months, you can simply hire a scout. Go to "Global Transfer Network"> "Jobs" in the menu and create a new job. Enter 0-1 years for the contract and after a short time you will be presented with an extensive list of suitable players.
- If you have found a player who meets your expectations, you have to contact him and not the current club. If you successfully complete the salary negotiation, the player is yours and the releasing club cannot do anything about it.
