Fix VPN error on Hamachi
Often, the VPN error in Hamachi only occurs due to incorrectly configured network adapters and can easily be fixed.
- Open the Windows Start menu and enter "ncpa.cpl" in the search. Then press Enter. This will quickly get you into your network connections.
- You should now see the Hamachi network connection. If it is grayed out, right-click on it to activate it. If the adapter is not called Hamachi, rename it.
- If the adapter is not listed at all, this is mostly due to the network connections service. In very rare cases, the DHCP client can also have a protocol error.
- To fix this, open your Windows start menu again and this time enter "services.msc" and press Enter.
- In the following window, search for the services network connections and DHCP client. If these services are not started, right-click on them and start them.
- Hamachi should now work without problems.
VPN error on Hamachi - Hamachi network connection does not exist
If the network connection from Hamachi is not listed at all, you should install it manually. And so it goes:
- Open the Windows start menu and enter "hdwwiz". Then press Enter to start the hardware wizard.
- Click on "Next" and then on the "Manually select and install hardware from a list" button.
- Now find the tab Network adapter. Then click on "Have Disk" and then "Browse".
- Now go to the installation folder of Hamachi and look for the file "Hamachi.inf". Select this to add the Hamachi network adapter manually. Confirm the rest of the installation and then restart your computer.
- Hamachi should now work properly.
