Folding laundry: This saves a lot of space in the closet
In the closet it can quickly become full and confusing. In this practical tip, we will show you life hacks with which your laundry can be folded up neatly and space-savingly in the closet.
Fold laundry: roll socks
Most people fold your socks or put them together. But by folding alone, the socks get mixed up quickly and by turning them up, they can wear out and lose their shape. In addition, they are not particularly space-saving.
- Place a pair of socks on top of each other so that the waistband of the top sock is slightly lower than the waistband of the bottom sock.
- At the top of the sock on top, start rolling the socks tight towards the waistband.
- As soon as you have rolled up the two socks completely, put the waistband of the sock underneath over the roll.
- This way you have rolled up your sock as tightly as possible and you can simply stow it away without having to separate the socks.
Fold t-shirts and other tops
If you want to fold T-shirts or shirts, sweaters, etc., this tip is suitable for you. With a booklet or college block in A4 size, your tops can be folded quickly, easily and uniformly.
- Place your t-shirt (or other top) on a smooth surface. The front should face the surface and the back should be facing you.
- Place your A4 booklet in the middle of your T-shirt so that the top of the booklet is slightly below the collar.
- Fold the right and left sides of the shirt onto the booklet. If you want to fold a long-sleeved top, then fold the sleeves several times so that it also fits on the stitching surface.
- Then fold the bottom side of the t-shirt up so that the t-shirt has the shape of the booklet. If your top goes beyond the collar, fold the excess pieces under the previously folded sleeves.
- Take out the booklet and turn the top.
Store trousers to save space
If you roll your pants, you can save space and quickly choose pants without messing up the whole stack of folded pants. This method is particularly suitable for travel to save space in a suitcase.
- First fold the pants so that the two legs are on top of each other.
- Fold one of the two legs diagonally upwards. The protruding length should correspond approximately to the width (half waist width) of the folded pants.
- Starting at the waistband, roll up your trousers towards your feet.
- Put the leg section folded in the second step over the roll so that the pants do not unroll.
Casters save space in the closet and suitcase
In order to store clothes such as T-shirts in a drawer or a suitcase, it is advisable to roll up the parts after folding.
- Place them side by side and then simply take the desired item of clothing out of the drawer or suitcase. This also applies to undershirts or underpants.
- With a drawer divider, it is possible to install several compartments in one drawer to create even more order.
- Even things that are difficult to store in the wardrobe, such as belts, can be stored neatly and space-saving.
