Waipu.tv via Kodi: is there a plugin?
For Kodi, there are now several plugins from German streaming stations, including Waipu.tv.
Since Kodi 18, the Waipu.tv plugin has also been offered by the Kodinerds repository.
To use Waipu.tv, click on install.
Once Waipu.tv is installed, it will appear as a tile on Kodi's home page.
With Waipu.tv you can access public and private TV channels in many ways. Either mobile via the apps for iOS and Android, on the PC via the web app or directly on the TV via Chromecast, Fire TV and Apple TV.
Up to now, this was only possible on the PC via the web app. However, since Kodi 18 it has been possible to use both the associated video and PVR plugin.
With the video plugin, proceed as follows:
- In the add-on settings, allow the integration of unknown sources by activating the switch at "unknown sources".
- Go to the Kodi home page and then go to Add-Ons> Click Package Icon> Install from Zip file . Enter the path to the Kodinerd repository that you downloaded earlier.
- Within the add-on menu, click the package icon again and this time choose install from Repository> Kodinerd-Add-Ons> Video-Add-Ons . Then scroll down until Waipu.tv appears. You can install the plugin by pressing the entry and pressing install again.
PVR plugin for the streaming station Waipu.tv
Version 18.3 of Kodi currently exists, but it does not yet contain a PVR plugin for Waipu.tv by default. Usually, the PVR plugins can be obtained from Add-Ons> My Add-Ons> PVR . But with Waipu.tv you have to compile the plugin before it can be integrated under Kodi. The commands git, cmake and gcc are required for the installation.
Alternatively, already compiled PVR plug-ins are offered, but these could not be installed in our test. To integrate the plugin, proceed as described in point 2.
In the next practical tip, we will show you another way to set up IPTV in Kodi.
