Remove wall paint: tips & tricks
Removing old wall paint is often necessary if you want to repaint a wall. We'll show you how to do it best.
Remove wall paint: how it works
With the following tips you can easily remove your old wall paint.
- Spatula: Start with the spatula from the top and work your way down. For particularly stubborn spots, you can edit them from left to right. We recommend that you wear safety glasses.
- Wire brush: If there are small paint residues, you can remove them particularly effectively with a wire brush. However, do not apply excessive pressure, otherwise you may damage the wall.
- Sandpaper: You can also remove thin layers of paint with medium-grain sandpaper. Since fine dust is generated here, we recommend that you wear a face mask.
- High-pressure cleaner: We do not recommend this method for living rooms, because the moisture can form mold. In addition, furniture can be damaged by the treatment. Before painting the wall again, you should wait until it is completely dry.
- Alternatively, you can also process wall paint with chemical paint remover. However, pay attention to the manufacturer's instructions and use the product in moderation.
