If your ballot paper is invalid in the Bayern election, your vote will not be counted. To prevent this from happening, we have briefly summarized all the important factors here.
Invalid ballot for Bavaria election?
Strictly speaking, you can't do too much wrong when filling out the ballot. You have exactly two votes, a first vote and a second vote, which you can cast for the state election.
- Two votes means two crosses, which you place on the ballot in the appropriate places. This means that you can place a cross in the left column of the ballot paper and a cross in the right column.
- If you submit more than one cross for the first and / or second vote, the ballot is invalid.
- You cannot make more than two crosses, but you can make fewer. For example, if you only want to cast your first vote for the direct mandate, you can.
- You must also place the cross as precisely as possible in the space provided. It must be clearly recognizable where the cross belongs. If you place your cross so unfavorably that it cannot be clearly attributed to one or the other candidate or party, the ballot paper is also invalid.
- Additional comments on the ballot paper are also undesirable and will result in your ballot paper being declared invalid.
Few people know this: Invalid ballot paper due to photo
Feel free to post on Facebook & Co., should you not do so when choosing:
- If you photograph the ballot in the polling station, your ballot can be declared invalid. Because you break your electoral secret and that is not allowed. You can find more on this in the article "Selfie in the voting booth".
- If you participate in the postal vote and post the completed ballot paper to Facebook, for example, the ballot paper will also be declared invalid. This was the case, for example, with the ex-Minister of the Interior of Schleswig-Holstein, Andreas Breitner.
- If you do not go to the state parliament election in your own constituency, you cannot cast the first vote. In this case, only the second part counts.
- If you have lost your election documents, you can of course still vote if you can legitimize yourself with an identity card.
- If you would like to cast your vote for the state election in Bavaria via postal vote, the ballot paper is invalid if it was not returned in the official ballot envelope.
If you have not yet applied for the documents for postal voting, you should hurry up now so that you meet the specified deadlines.
