What does D-Netz quality mean? Here you can find all information about the mobile network
This practical tip will tell you what the meaning of the term "D-Netz" is, what the quality is and who the best providers are.
D-Netz - what does that mean?
- The D network is a digital cellular network in the 900 MHz range. It is primarily used for the transmission of telephone data.
- It is based on the European GSM standard and thus offers cross-border usage options.
- The D network was established in 1991. Successors were the E-Netz 1993 and later UMTS as well as the modern LTE.
- The users of the D network are primarily the mobile phone providers Telekom (D1) and Vodafone (D2). But the providers E-Plus and o2 also use parts of the frequencies.
D1 and D2 network - quality from Telekom and Vodafone
When talking about mobile tariffs in the D1 network, the provider Telekom is behind it - with the D2 network Vodafone.
- The two mobile networks from Telekom and Vodafone are considered to be very solid, offer a decent voice quality when making calls and are well developed.
- In our CHIP network test in 2014, the D1 Telekom network emerged as the winner. For example, when it comes to distribution in rural areas, Telekom is a step ahead of the competition.
- Vodafone took a secure second place ahead of o2 and E-Plus in the network test. One of the reasons for this was the very well-developed LTE network.
- In our network test you will find detailed assessments and measurements of the mobile networks from Telekom and Vodafone as well as information about the test procedure.
