What is bloatware - simply explained
In this practical tip, we explain what bloatware is. Bloatware can be found on consumer electronics such as smartphones, tablets and computers. Even relatively well-known software can be bloatware.
Bloatware - what is it?
When you come across the term bloatware, it means the following:
- Bloatware is software that is overloaded with all functions from different areas of application.
- Bloatware is usually quite prone to errors and particularly confusing.
- Often, pre-installed, unnecessary software is also referred to as bloatware.
- Bloatware often also slows down your PC or smartphone, since bloatware requires a particularly large amount of system resources.
- It is therefore recommended to remove bloatware from your PC or smartphone if possible. Programs like Nero 8 or Seamonkey are considered bloatware, for example.
Norton Internet Security software is also often declared as bloatware. You can remove the program from your device using the Norton Removal Tool.
