What is a backup? Easily explained
Backups are created from smartphones, computers and tablets - on request also regularly. If you are unsure what exactly this is, you will find an understandable explanation in this article.
Backup - what is it? It is explained here
A backup is a backup copy that data can be copied back or restored in the event of a system failure or data loss. The copy can be made on an external hard drive, the hard drive of the computer or on a USB stick. The data can also be backed up online:
- Many computers, smartphones and tablets create such backup copies automatically. The data and settings are usually synchronized in an online storage.
- You can also create backups manually. There are special programs for this. These read the memory or hard disk of the device and save all data.
- An external hard drive, for example, is suitable as a medium for a backup. You can of course also use the internal hard drive of your computer for backups of mobile devices.
- If your smartphone is broken or lost, data such as contacts, pictures and videos are still available with a backup. The same applies to your PC if you have backups created in the online storage.
- You can restore all data, photos, etc. later from a backup. This is useful, for example, if your smartphone is broken and you need to have it repaired. The device is usually completely reset and all data deleted. If you then import the backup, the files are available again.
