Cloud - online storage medium
The word "cloud" obviously comes from English and means "cloud" in German. But what does that have to do with computers?
- When you talk about uploading something to the cloud, you usually mean storing data on a remote server.
- The data is uploaded from a device over the Internet to a cloud provider's server. The files can later be retrieved using this or other devices.
- This is particularly helpful because you can now access the files from different computers or smartphones. So you can edit files from different locations or share them with your friends and colleagues.
- It also saves space on your devices. This is particularly helpful for large amounts of data for the tablet or smartphone.
