The "Application Data" or "AppData" folder is included in every Windows system. It can be found in the folder of the respective user, but is usually hidden.
What is the Application Data folder for?
- Various data is temporarily stored in this folder by both the Windows system and numerous programs. These are mostly temporary files that are currently still in use and have not yet found their destination.
- Example: If you open a Word document and make changes to it, Word saves every single change in the background. These are saved in a Word document in the "Application Data" folder. Only when you click "Save" yourself, the settings are transferred and the backup in the background is deleted.
