There are many computer programs for Windows and Mac. Mac is the name for Apple computers. In this article we explain what the term Mac means.
Mac - what is it?
Mac is the short form for Macintosh, the first microcomputer with a graphical user interface. The computer manufacturer Apple now names all of its computer models with variations of the basic term Mac. Apple computers work with their own operating system, the Mac OS, so there are separate program versions for Mac.
- Mac mini: The Mac mini is a desktop PC. It is only about 19 x 19 x 4 cm in size, making it Apple's smallest desktop computer (see video below).
- iMac: The iMac is an all-in-one PC, i.e. computer and monitor in one. It is available in different sizes and designs.
- Mac Pro: The Mac Pro is Apple's most expensive and most powerful PC. In its new design, it is black and cylindrical and thus stands out from ordinary PCs.
- MacBook Pro: The MacBook Pro is Apple's standard notebook model. It is available in different sizes and designs.
- MacBook: The MacBook is thinner, smaller and lighter than the MacBook Pro. It is only available in the 12-inch version. We'll explain the differences between MacBook Pro and MacBook in another article.
- MacBook Air: The thinnest and lightest Apple notebook is the MacBook Air. It is only 17 mm thick and available in various sizes and designs.
