Shopping online is convenient and offers a lot of advantages, but it also involves some risks. PayPal Buyer Protection helps you to minimize these risks.
- The goods do not match the description? Or will the purchased product not be delivered to you? If you paid for the ordered goods using PayPal, you will get your money back in most cases thanks to buyer protection. Before PayPal Buyer Protection comes into effect, you are asked yourself.
- If you have a complaint, you must first contact the seller via your PayPal account. You have exactly 180 days to do this after your internet purchase. If you let this time pass, you have to try to resolve the conflict with the seller yourself.
- The seller has 20 days after receiving your complaint to resolve the problem. This means: either he provides proof that the fault is not his or he regulates the damage caused.
- If the seller does not contact you or is not ready to pay for the damage, you can turn on PayPal. However, the notification to PayPal must be received no later than 20 days, after the already mentioned days 180 days.
- As part of PayPal buyer protection, the payment service then endeavors to resolve the conflict. If there is still no amicable agreement with the online retailer, you will receive a refund of the amount paid, including the postage costs. Provided, of course, that you are right. If one of the above deadlines expires, your buyer protection expires automatically and you will not receive a refund.
- However, there is an important clause to note; buyer protection also includes exceptions. Services and products such as tickets and vehicles with engines are not covered by PayPal buyer protection. In these cases you do not enjoy PayPal buyer protection and accordingly you will not receive a refund, at least from the payment service.
- Note: If someone accesses your PayPal account without authorization and you have not acted with gross negligence, PayPal also assumes the damage as part of the buyer protection.
