What is rooting? Easily explained
The term "rooting" is often used in connection with smartphones. However, many users do not know exactly what rooting is. That is now a thing of the past, because we explain to you in an easy and understandable way what the term is.
That means "rooting"
By default, the smartphone manufacturers do not grant you full system rights. For example, you can only install certain apps or change the settings of the smartphone operating system.
- By rooting you gain full access rights. With the so-called "super user rights" you can actually carry out deeper interventions on your smartphone. This is roughly comparable to the administrator rights on a computer.
- However, you should only root your smartphone if you are technically adept and want to use the additional options at all.
- Otherwise you should better keep your hands off rooting, because the procedure is not harmless: In the worst case, you shut down your smartphone completely. In addition, you lose your guarantee claim by rooting.
- Rooting itself is usually done quickly. Tools like Towelroot or Kingo Root do most of the work for you. But make absolutely sure that you also use the right tool for your smartphone.
- Attention: If you are determined to root your smartphone, you should make a backup beforehand. This can be done quickly with the Ultimate Backup Tool, for example.
The advantages of a rooted smartphone
- After you have become a superuser by rooting, you can delete, move or copy system data without hindrance. For example, you can also modify the autostart file.
- You could install previously blocked apps like Custom ROMs. Custom ROMs are modified Android versions, but with which you can make significantly more settings yourself.
- Of course, you can now also remove unwanted apps that were pre-installed by the manufacturer. Or install apps that keep annoying advertisements away from your smartphone.
- System files and apps can also be backed up without any problems after rooting using the appropriate tools.
- More performance is also possible, for example by manipulating the processor performance in the settings.
