What is Twitter Music?
The Twitter Music service was launched in April 2013. However, even many Twitter users do not know exactly what that is. We clarify it.
What can Twitter Music do?
- Twitter #music is a music service from the social network Twitter. However, it is not like other services such as iTunes or Spotify. Twitter Music wants to revolutionize the way people find music.
- Music uploaded by artists to the service can be listened to, shared, and purchased by users. Songs cannot be listened to entirely, but only in a 30-second preview - similar to iTunes.
- The service analyzes and ranks the music that is currently tweeted on Twitter. This creates different categories such as "Popular", "Emerging" or "Superstars". In contrast to iTunes, for example, the charts are not sorted according to the number of titles sold, but according to their current popularity on the social network.
- If you click on a song, the preview of the piece starts. If it has expired, the next song is played immediately. You can use the mini player to tweet your opinion about the song or buy it on iTunes.
- So it's mainly about discovering new music and spreading your opinions about songs on Twitter. The service can also be used without a Twitter account.
Who is Twitter Music for?
- Twitter Music is great for discovering new trends in the music industry and currently popular songs. You can also tweet directly to specific songs, follow artists on Twitter and see who your favorite band is following.
- However, if you want to listen to music from start to finish, you need a paid premium account from Spotify. Instead, we advise you to use Spotify's free service, through which you can listen to almost all songs for free and in full length.
