What can an NFC ring do?
The NFC ring promises to simplify everyday life enormously. We'll tell you what it can do and how it works.
NFC ring - what is it?
The NFC ring is a ring for the hand in which an NFC chip is installed. It is a crowdfunding project that is currently still in the development phase.
- Both the ring and most new smartphones have an NFC chip. NFC technology only transmits information over a short distance. If you come closer to your hand with the cell phone and thus also to the ring, a certain action is triggered.
- For example, you can unlock your smartphone by holding it in your hand. If your door has an NFC chip, you can open it with the ring. This enables you to send a wide range of information safely and over short distances.
- The ring has a "public" and a "private" side. If you hold the public side to a smartphone, for example, you can share certain content, such as a digital business card. With the private page you can, for example, unlock your smartphone or open your front door.
- Limited pre-orders are currently being accepted on the manufacturer's website. A video of the NFC ring can be found on the Kickstarter website.
