What are Google alerts?
In this practical tip, we will tell you what exactly Google Alerts are and how you can subscribe to them.
What are Google alerts?
With Google Alerts you will be automatically informed by email about the latest Google results. To do this, first determine a search query (eg: "NSA"). Depending on how often you are notified of new results in the Google search engine, you will receive an email as soon as new search results appear on Google for the search query (here "NSA"). Google Alerts are particularly useful ...
- ... to keep an eye on daily politics. To do this, enter current political issues in the search query field. Read below how to do this.
- ... to be up to date in sports. Simply use your favorite team or your favorite sport as a search query.
- ... to follow the latest gossip in the celebrity world. Here "Hollywood" or "Stars und Sternchen" is suitable as a search query. Alternatively, you can create several search queries with specific stars. See more below.
- ... to see if you are represented on Google. To do this, enter your name as a search query. As soon as Google finds a match for you, you will be informed by email.
