Telephone terror can take many forms - but there is no optimal solution to what you can do about it. We show you which tips and measures help.
First aid against telephone terrorism: block number
- The first thing you should do is block the number in question. This works both on the smartphone and for the landline phone in the router. Here you will find instructions for iOS, Android, the Fritzbox and for the Speedport.
- If you are always called by an anonymous number, this measure does not help. Read on in the next paragraph.
Various tips against telephone terror
- If the caller is silent on the phone, you should react with silence yourself. The greatest satisfaction from harassing calls lies in the reactions of the called party.
- If necessary, you can also ward off callers with a whistle. This creates a strong moment of terror, especially if you are silent for a few seconds beforehand.
- But be careful: a whistle can also cause hearing damage over the phone. A notice of assault is quite possible.
- Let the answering machine answer fairly quickly. Women can have a man discuss the answering machine. This is also a deterrent.
Action against telephone terrorism: file a complaint
- If none of this helps, you can also take legal action. Submit a complaint to the police against unknown persons. However, it is not that easy to release the stored phone data.
- In most cases, those affected have to deal with the burden of proof themselves. Anonymous calls are usually logged for 7 to 14 days using a snap. A fishing circuit costs up to 100 euros depending on the provider.
