Descaling the washing machine can significantly extend its lifespan. We will show you how to do it correctly and how regularly you should do it.
Descale the washing machine properly - you need that
Descaling the washing machine twice a year is the general rule of thumb. Basically, the harder the water, the faster your household appliances will calcify.
- If the degree of hardness of the water in your area is particularly high, you can add special descaling tabs to your clothes as a precaution.
- Otherwise there are some home remedies that you can use to descale your washing machine.
- These household funds include citric acid and vinegar essence. However, the smell of citric acid is much more pleasant and its use is therefore preferred.
Descale the washing machine - Instructions
- Descaling is very easy: just add about eight tablespoons of citric acid or, alternatively, about 200 ml of vinegar to the laundry drum. If you want to use lemon granules, you should dissolve them with warm water before putting them in the washing drum.
- Finally, start the washing machine with the highest temperature and, after the washing machine has reached the highest heating level, simply stop and let it stand for two to three hours before the washing cycle continues.
- Alternatively, you can also use ready-made washing machine decalcifiers.
