Washer and dryer on top of each other - you need to know that
Stacking the washing machine and dryer on top of each other is definitely a space-saving solution for small bathrooms. We'll explain what you need to consider.
Washer and dryer on top of each other - how it works
Before you stack the devices, there are a few things to check.
- In order for a dryer to stand stable on the washing machine, the washing machine must stand securely when spinning. If the washing machine drifts, you should fix this problem first.
- If the washing machine is firmly in place, you should still secure the dryer additionally. The device is heavy - if it tips over, not only can the dryer be damaged, there is also a risk of injury if someone is nearby. For safety reasons, therefore, use a special connection frame that is commercially available.
- Not every dryer is suitable for stacking and not every washing machine can withstand the weight. Therefore, check in the operating instructions whether your devices are suitable for stacking at all. For washing machines, the maximum weight with which they can be loaded is specified. Most dryer manufacturers explicitly state whether a device is stackable or not.
