- Make a note of the work steps. When reassembling, you must then follow the correct order again. You should have suitable seals ready in advance.
- The relevant seal sits on the cartridge. To get there, you have to remove the handle of the fitting. This is usually screwed. The screws are either on the back of the tap or under the handle.
- After removing the handle, you will see the inside of the tap and the cartridge with some circular seals. Remove them and insert the new seals.
- Now you can reassemble the tap. The square connector to the handle is important, the adapter should be inserted correctly.
- If you are in the process of replacing the seals on the tap, you should also replace them on the aerator. All you have to do is unscrew the filter at the end of the tap - this is usually done by hand. If it is stuck, use pliers. Then you should put a cloth around the filter so as not to scratch it.
- Once you have replaced all seals and screwed everything back on, you can turn the water back on. The tap should no longer drip.
What you can do when the tap whistles, we will tell you in the next post.
