Find out the wattage of the power supply
This practical tip shows you how to find out the wattage of your power supply.
Find out the wattage of the computer power supply
Usually there is a sticker on the power supply with the exact model name. Either the wattage is on this sticker or you can find it out using the manufacturer's information.
- Carefully screw on the PC case. On the back you have to loosen two screws at the top and bottom. Once you've removed them, gently pull the case back. Now you can fold out the side part. This step can vary depending on the housing type.
- Once you've opened the case, inspect the power supply for stickers or labels. If you have found a sticker, there should be a number behind it, followed by the letter "W". In this case, "W" is the abbreviation for watts. The largest number indicates the maximum wattage.
- If you couldn't find the wattage, write down the exact model name including the manufacturer's name. Enter this in Google. So you should also find out the wattage.
